Finding & viewing projects
Once you’ve built a few projects, most of your time is spent finding them and checking their status. Here’s how Monograph helps you do that.
The Projects list
Section titled “The Projects list”Go to Projects in the main menu for a visual list of your firm’s work, shown as a Gantt chart of every project’s phases against today’s date.
- Filter by status, client, assignment, category, or active phase.
- Sort alphabetically, by project number, or by creation date — your choice is saved for next time.
- Copy Filtered View to share the exact same view with a teammate who has the right permissions.
- The sub-menu also holds Milestones, Deliverables, Templates, and Archive.
What you see depends on your permissions: without View all projects, you’ll only see projects assigned to you.
The project overview
Section titled “The project overview”Click any project to open its overview — a single page summarizing the most important data points. Expand any section to dig in:
- Gantt chart — drag either end of a phase bar to extend or shorten it; linked phases and future milestones adjust automatically.
- Weekly Pulse — an AI summary of the past week’s activity (deadlines, new invoices, timeline changes, notes). Admins can save it as a project note.
- Client details, project budget, staffing, progress, deliverables, consultants, and team — each at a glance.
Financial sections (Money Gantt, Project Progress, budget figures) are limited to admins and users with Edit permissions.
Project files
Section titled “Project files”Every project has a Files page (in the left-hand nav) listing everything uploaded to it — name, who uploaded it, type, size, and date.
- Drag and drop files (up to 50MB each) or click Browse to Upload.
- If your Google or Microsoft 365 account is connected, add files straight from Google Drive or OneDrive.
- If Monograph detects a consultant bill, it offers to create the bill for you automatically.
Project notes
Section titled “Project notes”Capture meeting notes, site visits, and to-dos right inside a project. On the overview page, add a note by typing, or upload a file to transcribe for an AI-generated summary.
@mentionteammates to notify them.- Choose an audience: everyone, internal team only, or a selected consultant firm (a color indicator shows which).
- Smart Scan highlights actionable items in a note and lets you turn them into a deliverable, bill, or expense.
Global search
Section titled “Global search”Press ⌘K (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows), or click the search icon in the main menu, to jump to any project or team member. You can also create a project or navigate the app from here.
Search matches project names (not numbers). Results respect your permissions — end-users only see projects they’re allowed to view.
