Proposals
The Proposal Builder turns a lead’s data into a finished proposal document. You tag your own Microsoft Word template once, then generate on-brand proposals from any lead in minutes.
Step 1 — Tag a Word template
Section titled “Step 1 — Tag a Word template”Start from a strong, recent proposal saved as a .docx file.
-
Go to Settings → Templates and click New Proposal Template.
-
Upload the
.docx(from your computer, Google Drive, or OneDrive) and click Next. -
In the tagging view, highlight a block of content and assign a tag telling Monograph what data goes there. Add optional custom instructions (AI prompts) for layout.
Tags act like open/close parentheses — every dynamic section starts with a tag and ends with {{mg:end}}. Key tags include:
{{mg:client_info}}— client name, company, phone, address{{mg:phase_list}}/{{mg:phase_description_list}}— phases with prices, dates, durations, descriptions{{mg:role_list}}— team roles and billing rates{{mg:consultant_list}}— consultants, budgets, and markups{{mg:expense_budgets}}— reimbursable expense budget{{mg:project_description}}— a scope description built from your snippet + the lead’s notes
Step 2 — Generate from a lead
Section titled “Step 2 — Generate from a lead”First, confirm the lead’s Overview (location, square footage, notes) and Budget & Plan (phases, roles/rates, consultants) are complete. Then, inside the lead, click Create Proposal, pick your template, and click Next.
Generation uses AI to format tables and apply your rules — usually 2–5 minutes (up to 7 for complex files). You can keep working elsewhere in Monograph; the status turns to a green checkmark when it’s ready.
Step 3 — Final edits & send
Section titled “Step 3 — Final edits & send”Click Edit in Microsoft Word for last-minute tweaks (cloud auto-save); close the tab and click Done Editing to sync back. Then send for signature:
-
Fill out the Get e-signature form — select an approver, optionally CC others and add a note.
-
Set a due date and, if you like, check Send reminder on the due date.
-
Click Send.
Need to change course? Void revokes client access to a sent request; Replace swaps an unsent proposal for a new template or file. Every proposal keeps an activity log of when it was created, viewed, and signed.
