Profitability reports
Monograph’s profit reports turn your invoices, compensation, and costs into a clear picture of what’s making — or losing — money. All live under Analytics and require View Financial Reports (a project’s own Profit report also respects project permissions).
Profit Report (historical)
Section titled “Profit Report (historical)”Analytics → Profit. Your firm’s actual profitability over a date range.
- Net Profit / Revenue / Costs summary, with monthly bar graphs breaking down what drives each.
- Revenue comes from all non-draft invoices (by issue date), split into Fixed, Hourly, Consultants, and Other.
- Costs come from compensation and timesheets, plus labor and project costs imported from QuickBooks.
Profit Forecast (future)
Section titled “Profit Forecast (future)”Analytics → Profit Forecast. (Grow plan.) Projects future profitability from the revenue schedule of active and proposed projects.
- Shows Projected Operating Profit, Revenue, and Costs over the coming months (defaults to the next 6).
- Revenue and costs are spread by day across each phase, so monthly figures track how much of a phase falls in each month.
Profit Drivers (what’s profitable)
Section titled “Profit Drivers (what’s profitable)”Analytics → Profit Drivers. Compares revenue vs. cost across categories, clients, and phases — so you can see which kinds of work pay off.
- Group by category to compare project types, or by client to see who’s most profitable.
- Expand the table for a project-by-project breakdown.
Project Profit
Section titled “Project Profit”Inside a project → Profit in the sub-menu. (Grow plan, QuickBooks Online required.) Pulls imported QBO costs together with Monograph data for profit by phase, including wages, labor-related costs, consultants, and expenses.
